Floral midi dresses

Spring, while not quite in full bloom, is definitely springing. Ankles can be bared without fear of frostbite and midi dresses worn without umpteen layers under/over.

I love a midi dress. Minimum effort required in the tan/removal of body hair department. A one stop shop of an outfit, just throw on and go. Easy to dress up or down, they really are a versatile piece (& work all year round).

Floral midi dresses have taken my fancy lately and are in full bloom on the high street right now. Now I know florals aren’t for everyone. I pointed out a floral dress to my mum the other day who said ‘if I wore that I’d worry someone would sit on me.’ I however, love a floral number resembling a sofa/curtains/something my Nan would have worn.

If full on florals aren’t your thing, try a spriggy or ditsy print that almost looks like one colour. Or take inspiration from the garden and mix up your florals, wear several different prints in one piece to keep it contemporary. Bold florals work well on curvy figures, and many of these styles can be worn during pregnancy (or to a rather large buffet sitting). But if a buffet dress and florals feels too shapeless then try a skimming style.

Here are some of our floral faves around right now.
